Dear Parents and Carers

Term 4 is always busy and exciting, and it is hard to believe that we are already nearing the end of the school year! There is a real buzz of excitement at Halls Head campus with the announcement that the development of our campus will commence in 2024, with a new Early ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍøs Centre and Administration. We will be commencing a second stream of Kindergarten in 2024 and plan to grow our wonderful campus slowly to double stream from Kindergarten to ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø 6 over the next eight years.

Our engagement with the Act, Belong, Commit initiative continues to be strong. In Week 6, our ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø 4s participated in the Red Ball Tennis event and our ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø 5 and 6 students in the Inter-School Cricket and Lawn Bowls Competition. Next week our ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø 3-6 Choir will be singing for the residents of Halls Head Aged Care Mercy Place, and on Tuesday 5 December they will perform at the Halls Head Shopping Centre. This year, Frederick Irwin ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø School will also have a float at the City of Mandurah Christmas Pageant on Friday 1 December.

We continue to prioritise student well-being at Frederick Irwin. The focuses on building self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and decision-making skills. I have been running weekly sessions with our ¿á°®³ÉÈËÍø 5 students. This programme involves a series of activities to develop confidence and self-reflection. It is a privilege to be able to make a difference in the lives of young people in our care by helping them develop these important skills.

Kind regards and best wishes
Sue Kirke
